Library Materials and Services: Home


  • Audiobooks are located on the 1st floor near the Fiction section.
  • Chargers may be checked out at the circulation desk. 
  • Chromebook laptops are available at the circulation desk for use in the library for two hour intervals.
  • Dry Erase Markers may be checked out at the circulation desk for whiteboards. 
  • DVDs are located on the 1st floor near the Fiction section. DVDs are shelved in alphabetical order by title.
  • eBooks are available from NC LIVE. See a librarian for assistance.
  • Flash drives may be checked out at the circulation desk
  • General Collection has been moved temporarily to the 1st floor BEHIND the circulation desk. Please see a librarian if you are looking for a General Collection book.
  • Graphic novels are located on the 1st floor near the Fiction section.
  • Headphones are available for use in the library and must be checked out at the circulation desk. Sound must not be audible to others. We have both headphones for listening and headphones with microphones for recording projects. Please ask at the circulation desk.
  • Newspapers are located in the reading area on the 1st floor.
  • Popular Fiction is located on the 1st floor. Fiction is shelved alphabetically by author's last name following FIC.
  • Popular Magazines and Academic Journals are located in the reading area on the 1st floor. Back issues of academic journals can be requested at the circulation desk.‚Äč
  • Quick Pick Reads Collection is located on the 1st floor near the Fiction section.
  • Reference materials are located on the 1st floor.
  • Textbook Reserves are located at the circulation desk and may be used in the LRC building for two hour intervals.
  • Whiteboards are located on the 1st and 2nd floors for patron use.
  • Whiteboard Tables are available in the downstairs group study rooms; these are round tables with whiteboard surfaces. Please adhere to the guidelines posted on the tables regarding marker use and materials to be used on them. 

Renew My Materials

1. Log into your library account from the library's home page under My Library Account using your 14-digit library barcode and the four digit pin you created when you obtained your library barcode. Select the link for Renew My Materials.

2. You may also renew items by coming to the library circulation desk.

  • Books and audiobooks check out for three weeks and may be renewed two times.
  • DVDs are checked out for 3 days. We charge $1.00 a day late fees for DVDs only. 


  • Accessible study room is located on the 1st floor and is reserved for students in need of wheelchair access. Students may reserve this room at the circulation desk.
  • Computers and printers are available for enrolled Coastal and UNCW students, faculty, staff, and community members who are registered in the lab login system. Enrolled Coastal students can log in to any LRC computer using their MyCCCC portal username and password. UNCW students can log in using their UNCW username and password. Unauthorized downloading or installation is prohibited on all campus computers. 
  • Group study rooms are located on the 1st floor and can be reserved at the circulation desk for 2 hour intervals. Group study rooms can be reserved for two hour intervals by students and faculty only. A student ID must be presented by at least one of the members of the study group when scheduling a room. You may be extended for up to one hour after checking in at the circulation desk. Students in the same group may not reserve multiple rooms.
  • Individual study rooms are located on the 2nd floor and can be used on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Information literacy instruction is provided by the librarians, Sally Goodman, Audrey Stewart, Sarah Batcheler and Lauren Przywara. Faculty may schedule sessions for instruction or request bringing their classes to the library by submitting an online request form  accessible on the library webpage under "Quick Links" and "Faculty".
  • IT monitors are available to assist students with technology needs. TEXT the computer number to the phone number on your monitor and they'll be right down!
  • Photocopiers are located on the first floor at a cost of ten cents per page.
  • Printers are available and students may print up to 15 pages FREE per day. Each additional page is 10 cents. Non-students may print at a cost of 10 cents per page. Payment can be made at the circulation desk.
  • Quiet Study is located on the 2nd floor. 
  • Research assistance is available by requesting an appointment with a librarian at the circulation desk or by scheduling a research coach appointment online.
  • Reserve textbooks and other reserve resources are available for use in the library and may be checked out for 2 hour intervals.
  • Scanner and fax machines are located on the 1st floor.
