Call Me American: A Memoir
by Abdi Nor Iftin

Call Me American (Adapted for Young Adults) by Abdi Nor Iftin

If you missed out last year, here's your chance to read Abdi Nor Iftin's story about living as a refugee in
war-torn Somalia and his extraordinary journey to come to America to live in peace and eventually become an American citizen. With the release of the Young Adult version of Call Me American, families and students have an opportunity to get involved. Like Abdi, this year's theme, Mapping Your Identity, will hopefully give readers the opportunity to reflect on how place has shaped one's identity or how identity has impacted one's sense of place. Connect with your Onslow County community by reading Call Me American and participating in the many events and activities planned throughout the year!

Listen to the recording of the January 26th book discussion with Abdi Nor Iftin and Fetihya Hall.
