MAT 152: Cumulative Term Project

For this project, you will complete a comparison-based statistical study on a topic of your choosing. Your topic must be motivated, discussed or supported by at least two articles (e.g. journal article, government report, news article) and relatively current by at least five years since publication.

Note, this project may be done individually or with a partner. If you work with a partner, I must know who as soon as possible. Also, you are 100% responsible for the group dynamic of the project. I will always assume that you both deserve the same grade.

The paper must be overall APA formatted. Please reference and utilize the Writer's Center if needed.

Your paper must include:

• Title Page
• Body consisting of 2-3 pages with the following sections/content:
  • Introducing the topic and giving background research | This is where I see what articles you used for the topic's background.
  • How the data was obtained | Explain where or how you collected the data and why you did it like that.
  • What hypothesis tests did you run and what were the results | You don't have to show the formulas but explain your hypotheses and conclusions with p-values.
  • Conclusion wrapping up the project.
• Works Cited/Reference Page at the end.

Grading Rubric

• At least two valid articles used - 10 points
• Articles incorporated into Introduction - 10 points
• Appropriate Data was collected and used - 20 points
• At least two appropriated hypothesis tests were created - 20 points
• The aforementioned tests were done accurately - 20 points
• A solid conclusion was written summarizing the topic - 10 points
• The paper was properly formatted using the above guidelines - 10 points

• Utilizing the Writer's Center - 5 points extra credit
• Power Point video presentation outlining your project - 15 points extra credit
