Step 6: due 4/2 or 4/3

  • Find a scholarly article using NC LIVE
  • Read the article + take notes
  • Write a 2 page summary + analysis that includes: 
    • citation link, author, what you learned, the intended audience, how the article helped you, the benefits of the article and the limitations, and how this compares to the other sources you've used so far. 
    • Would it be a good idea to start with this source?

Scholarly Article Check List! Notes, Office, Pages, Papers, Print, Report, Documents

  • an article written by a profession (usually a PhD)
  • a long article (usually 6+ pages) *NOTE: this is a distinguishing factor even if the database filters bring back an article, it could be wrong if it is 1-2 pages.
  • an article that uses the language in the field (this language is called jargon)
  • an article that has a list of references or sources
  • the author is researching + discovering something; different from encyclopedia style information
